Smoked salmon company Ducktrap River of Maine's newly opened smokehouse will boost the company's production capacity for cold-smoked salmon by 75 percent, the company said Monday.

The Marine Harvest subsidiary officially opened the facility on Friday at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Belfast, Maine, attended by senior management along with local officials, current and former employees and partner contractors.

The new smokehouse is 50,000 square feet and increases Ducktrap’s production cold-smoked salmon capacity by 75 percent.
