Louisiana state senators recently agreed to move forward with a bill designed to let people know whether the shrimp or crawfish they’re being served in restuarants is imported.

Seafood processors went before the state's House Health and Welfare Committee to speak in favor of House Bill 335, which the senators approved last week, WAFB 9 reports.

The state's seafood processors pointed to issues with antibiotics and poor farming methods for imported shrimp versus domestically produced shrimp as reasons for needing the measure.
