Dutch shrimp processor Klaas Puul will start work on a new shrimp processing plant in Volendam, The Netherlands, General Director Maiko van der Meer told IntraFish.

The new factory will span an area of 5,506 square meters and will be built next to the company's current one.

Once operational in December, Klaas Puul will move all its packing lines from the current facility to the new building.

In addition, it will move its current thawing and cooking facilities to Edam, where another 2,000 square meters of processing space will be added, van der Meer said.
