Spanish fishing giant Iberconsa acquired a new plant in Vigo, Spain, with the capacity to produce 16,000 metric tons a year of value-added products and storage space for 3,000 metric tons.

The acquisition of the factory, which will be fully operational at the end of the year once the company finishes all the equipment installations and upgrades, will allow Iberconsa to get closer to the final consumer.

“The step that we’re taking now is to strengthen our capacity in the production of the final product," Iberconsa General Manager Imanol Almudi told IntraFish.
