Norwegian biotech company Hofseth Biocare acquired a new patent, involving hydrolysis processing on all fish species, not just salmon offcuts.
The patent has been approved by Norwegian authorities, and Hofseth has plans to pursue other areas such as Canada, the United States, Chile, and Peru.
The company said the patenting process is part of a long-term business strategy to lead the development of high-end protein extraction of fish off-cuts.
