Icelandic fishing and processing group HB Grandi said a small fire broke out at its fishmeal factory in Vopnafjördur on Sunday morning.
Sveinbjörn Sigmundsson, factory manager of the plant, said the fire was located in the smoke pipe just past 8.00 am in the morning and extinguished by 10.30 am local time.
No major damage was reported.
