The sad state of the UK's currency in the wake of ongoing Brexit uncertainty is the real area of concern for German whitefish processors, who supply the majority of the UK's breaded fish finger market.

“There is much more trouble [concern] about the currency issue [than the general uncertainty caused by ongoing Brexit negotiations],” Mattias Keller, managing director at German seafood association BV Fisch, told IntraFish.

The UK’s pound sterling is 15 percent weaker against the Euro than it was at the start of 2016 before the June referendum of that year.
