French value-added processor IOD Seafoods is recalling 14 salmon lines because of a mislabeling issue.

The company said it could not guarantee that product expiration dates are correct and is withdrawing the product as a precaution, French supermarket retailer Auchan said in the product recall notices section of its website.

Shoppers are being advised to return products carrying validity dates between Aug. 15 and Aug. 20 to stores for a full refund.

Boulogne-sur-Mer-based IOD is planning an expansion of the business that could double or even triple its production, following its acquisition by Norway's Nor seafoods last November.

Production is currently running below IOD's 1,000 metric-ton capacity but the company plans an expansion over the next two years.
