French value-added processor IOD Seafoods is planning an expansion of the business that could double or even triple its production.

Norway's Nor seafoods acquired IOD last November, opening up a direct route into the coveted French marketplace, where seafood consumption is around 34 kilograms per capita.

Nor seafoods saw IOD's location in the northern fishing port city of Boulogne-sur-Mer as ideal logistically, not only to receive fresh salmon shipments from Norway but also as a base from which to attack the French market.
