Northern French food group Le Saint has reached a deal to acquire Marine Harvest's Lorient-based operation, Le Télégramme reports.

Finnistère-based Le Saint holds the Garonne Marée, Cap Marée, Sabomar and Top Atlantique seafood brands.

Marine Harvest -- now known as Mowi -- employs 51 permanent employees in Lorient and expects a turnover of more than $30 million (€ 34 million) in 2018 at the plant.

Le Saint plans to retain the Marine Harvest's entire staff and is committed to maintaining the production volume, which in 2018 ran to 2,300 metric tons of finished products, the report said.
