French shrimp producer and processor Crusta C plans to move part of its production to a new processing plant for small-sized shrimp in the northern town of Arras under a €15 million ($16.3 million) investment in the business, a company official told IntraFish.

The company, founded in 1993, plans to use the site, with a capacity of 4,000 metric tons, to target markets in Northern Europe. Initially the site will provide work for 20 people.

Current production of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified shrimp will be shifted from the company's plant in Boulogne-sur-Mer to the Arras site 90 minutes to the south by road.
