Processors should opt for more automation to get the best results in terms of food safety and hygiene, Martin Löhrke, CEO of Loehrke Gmbh, told attendees of an event at Baader's new technology center in Lübeck, Germany, on Thursday.
The company teamed with the processing equipment giant "several months ago" to develop new and innovative cleaning and disinfection solutions for the fish processing industry.
Together, they developed a prototype of a cleaning robot -- Cleenius -- for pre-rinsing, foaming and post-rinsing without manual handling.
