Danish mackerel canner Saeby Fiske-Industri will open a new production line this week, after an investment of DKK 200 million (€26.9 million/$30.2 million) was made to its existing plant in Saeby.
The company -- Europe's biggest producer of canned mackerel -- expanded its factory by 13,500 square meter, Managing Director Henrik Mikkelsen told IntraFish.
Initially, it plans to operate only one additional production line, adding to the five existing lines, and aims to reach a production output of 135 million cans per year as of 2017.
