A blockade of the shipping routes in and out of the salmon processing hub of Quellon, on Chile's Chiloe Island, has been lifted, according to trade body SalmonChile and other sources in the region.

"Plants are working," a source from a leading Chilean processor said. "Let's hope order is maintained."

AquaChile's Quellon processing plant is running again with operations expected to return to normal levels this week, a source with familiar the situation told IntraFish on Thursday.

"The priority is to address health issues, deliver veterinary care to salmon and restart production processes in the different plants that are paralyzed," the source said.
