Chilean salmon producer Australis plans to expand its product range, while serving local and international markets through the acquisition of processor Pesquera Torres del Paine.
Australis is acquiring Pesquera Torres del Paine, which has a plant in Chile's Punta Arenas, under a $26.5 million (€23.3 million) deal.
Australis executives were attracted to Pesquera Torres del Paine because of its investments in technology, its product quality and the chance it gave Australis to boost it processing capacity in Chile’s Magallanes region.
