Russia’s veterinary service Rosselkhoznadzor has lifted its ban on seafood supplies from Estonian producer Kajax Fishexports nearly four years after it first imposed the embargo.

The company will be allowed to export sprats and herring - frozen, salted and in brine - to Russia in the fall, as well as to other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), according to Russia’s veterinary watchdog.

“The ban was lifted following an inspection in the spring of this year by the Rosselkhoznadzor’s experts of four Estonian fish processing plants,” Julia Melano, a spokesperson for Rosselkhoznadzor told IntraFish.
