Around 100 employees of German frozen seafood giant Frosta went on strike last week over pay conditions, forcing production at the group's Bremerhaven plant to temporarily grind to a halt, and putting the company on notice that further strikes could be forthcoming.

Germany's Food-Enjoyment-Restaurants Union, Gewerkschaft Nahrung-Genuss-Gaststätten (NGG), called for the action, which took place over three days last week.

The workers went on strike on May 31 for two hours, June 1 for eight hours and June 2 for a further eight hours, Dieter Nickel, a spokesman for the union, told IntraFish.
