The week kicked off with better news for the Ecuadorian shrimp industry as China lifted an import ban on leading Ecuador shrimp producer Santa Priscila and Empacreci.
The following day Chinese authorities said they detected the coronavirus on the outer packaging of imported frozen seafood that arrived from the port city of Dalian, which recently battled a surge of cases.
As the week wore on Ecuador dismissed new allegations of a COVID-19 link with its products after new discoveries on shrimp packaging in China.
