Russian seafood producers will not return to the Chinese processing sector in full, even if Chinese ports reopen to them, according to Russian fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo.

“In general, we do not really understand why China introduced, in our opinion, unjustifiably tough COVID-19-related measures against Russian fish products, creating a shortage of raw materials for its processors,” said head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov at the Fourth Global Fishery Forum in Saint Petersburg in early September.
