The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Aug. 13 issued an award to Trident Seafoods and Channel Fish for a bid that initially asked for nearly 8 million pounds of frozen Alaska pollock fillets for distribution through federal food and nutrition assistance programs, but the purchase was far below what the government agency had hoped.
