US-based equipment and automation solutions provider to the food processing and packaging sectors Duravant has acquired Marelec Food Technologies.
Marelec is a Belgium-based manufacturer of portioning, customized weighing and grading solutions, partly serving the seafood and marine sectors.
The deal is the latest in a spate of consolidation in the processing equipment sector. Earlier this year, Icelandic group Marel acquired whitefish processing equipment provider Curio, followed by US feed and equipment supplier Wenger Manufacturing.
