Scottish seafood company Thistle Seafoods has acquired the 100,000-square-foot processing facilities of bankrupt Dawnfresh Seafoods on the outskirts of Glasgow, Lanarkshire.

The Uddingston, Scotland, site includes a large industrial unit with processing, warehousing, administration, cold storage facilities and an extensive range of equipment.

The deal, which is for an undisclosed sum, includes the immediate transfer of 40 employees to Thistle.

Thistle Seafoods says it plans to develop the site into an advanced alue-added seafood processing and distribution center to supply retail and wholesale customers and markets in the UK, the EU and further afield, complementing its existing processing facilities in Peterhead.
