Spanish value-added seafood processor Congalsa expects to open a new €2 million ($2.4 million) cold storage center by the end of August.

The company is expanding the capacity of its Fricosim division at Dean Pequeno, Coruna, in north eastern Spain.

The expansions lifts Fricosim's storage space by 18,200 cubic meters to nearly 60,000 cubic meters.

In February Congalsa acquired Portugese frozen seafood firm Sulpasteis to strengthen its position in the international market.
