German processing equipment manufacturer Baader is opening up a new sales arm in Nantes, France.

Baader France will serve both the fish and poultry market with a joint local sales force in Nantes, and be supported by an additional sales branch in Boulogne-sur-Mer.

The establishment of a local service organization is part of Baader's push into the important French market, it said.

From the office in Nantes, Baader will handle equipment sales, spare part sales, service and installation.

For more than 50 years, Baader has worked in close cooperation with Mondial Navys, which has been the official and exclusive distributor in France for its fish processing equipment.

Employees from Mondial Navys will be joining the new company once fully established.

"With Baader France, Baader is concentrating its activities and reinforces its commitment to the French market," said Petra Baader, executive chairwoman at Baader.

"We are confident in the further development of the French market. With this new entity, we are preparing Baader for future growth in one of the most promising markets in Europe."

At the end of October, Baader announced it was acquiring a majority stake in Icelandic equipment manufacturer Skaginn 3X, with the two companies due to join forces in 2021.
