Bankruptcy proceedings have been begun against seafood processor Atlantic Seafood, a Norwegian district court confirmed on Monday.

The company, which mainly deals with salmon, is based in Sunnmore in western Norway.

According to the court, there were no representatives from the company present.

Earlier this month, IntraFish revealed that a number of employees had submitted bankruptcy petitions against the company due to its failure to pay salaries and holiday pay.

In addition, there were over 30 debt collection claims against the company, amounting to more than NOK 2 million (€190,000/$190,000).
