Norwegian salmon exports to processing nations are gaining momentum as consumers continue to buy packaged items from grocery retail in light of widespread foodservice shutdowns.

Exports to Lithuania increased 46 percent, while exports grew 5 percent to both Poland and the Netherlands, according to the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Meanwhile export volumes for salmon have remained stable through weeks 9 to 17, despite widespread coronavirus disruption.

Whole fresh salmon exports decreased 2 percent, fresh fillet exports went up 8 percent and frozen fillet exports jumped 36 percent.
