French seafood group Cité Marine, a subsidiary of Japanese giant Nippon Suisan Kaisha (Nissui), acquired fellow processing company Keranna Productions earlier this month as part of its plan to strengthen its production capacity.

Cité Marine acquired the company from Agromousquetaires, the agribusiness division of retail giant, Intermarche.

The transaction will allow Cité Marine to strengthen its production capacity, the company said in a statement.

Cité Marine now has eight production sites in the west of France spread between Brittany, Normandy, and Pays de Loire.
