Multiple-country listeria outbreak linked to smoked salmon from Lithuanian processors

Between 2022 and 2023, the outbreak hit a number of EU countries, with reports of 17 cases and two deaths.

Production has been stopped in one Lithuanian plant, likely reducing the risk of infections, but new cases are likely to occur in the EU/EEA countries.
