Mowi, the world's largest salmon producer, will close down and transfer production from its Chateaulin site in Brittany to its proposed new plant at Landivisiau in the same region of northern France, Le Journal des Entreprisesreported.

All 24 employees at Chateaulin will be transferred to the new site.

Mowi's former Kritsen smoked salmon plant in Landivisau was destroyed by fire in 2018 when Mowi was still known as Marine Harvest.

When Northern French food group Le Saint reached a deal to acquire the Lorient-based operation at the start of 2019 the Norwegian group was left with one remaining plant at Chateaulin in the Brittany region.
