More than 3,500 metric tons of food were destroyed in the bombing of surimi giant Viciunai's warehouse near Kyiv, Ukraine, earlier this month, a spokesperson for the company told IntraFish.

The logistics warehouse in Brovary, around 15 kilometers northwest of the Ukrainian capital, caught fire and burned down as a result of Russian shelling.

The facility was one of several storage facilities Viciunai rents in the country, where the company has sales and distribution operations and employs 766 people.

Viciunai runs 14 food production factories, one in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania along the Baltic Coast, where it is currently winding up operations in light of Russia's actions, and a further 13 factories in Estonia, Spain and its home country of Lithuania.
