Latest deal makes Unifrost a heavyweight in the Russian seafood processing market

With its latest acquisition, the surimi company now controls the lion’s share of Russia’s crab stick market and a major portion of the country’s fish preserves sector — a sign of accelerating consolidation in the seafood industry.

The new deal follows Unifrost’s 2024 acquisition of the Agama Group of Companies, another major Russian frozen fish and seafood supplier, producing under the Agama and Bay of Plenty brands.
