Japan-based Sakura Food started operations in its new Vietnamese processing plant, which has the capacity to produce double the amount of its previous facility.

The new factory will produce around 1,800 metric tons annually, double the amount it produced in its Kam Lam facility in the Suyao Industrial Park.

Sakura Foods is engaged in the manufacturing, sale and exporting of commercial fishery products, mainly salmon for sushi. Asahi Foods Co. is its parent company.

The site will also include frozen capacity for 200 metric tons of raw materials and 100 metric tons of seafood products.
