One of the largest whitefish processors on the east coast of Canada and the United States is confident that in the short term its supply of Alaska pollock and other whitefish are sufficient, even as a dispute between Alaska pollock producers and the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency is threatening shortages at its competitors.

Paul Jewer, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Canada-based High Liner Foods, told IntraFish that while the company is "obviously following the developments closely," it is comfortable with its current supply situation.
