The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or eat any seafood products sold or processed by Felix Custom Smoking due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination after the company declined to initiate a recall of its products.

With Monroe, Washington-based Felix continuing to process despite the warning, the agency is also telling companies and fishermen to discard and not sell or further distribute any seafood products processed by the company.

FDA officials detected listeria monocytogenes and other strains of listeria during an inspection at Felix Custom Smoking that began July 19 and is still ongoing.
