The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Monday said a Washington State seafood processing company has been fined just over $100,000 (€83,000) for wastewater discharge violations.

South Bend Products, LLC, which specializes in salmon and crab processing in South Bend, Washington, was fined based on an EPA inspection in 2017.

Inspectors found the facility exceeded discharge limits and was insufficiently monitoring and reporting its effluent run-off.

South Bend Products has implemented new processes and technologies as part of the settlement, the EPA said.

South Bend Products is a subsidiary of Tacoma, Washington-based Northern Fish.
