Universal Fish Company (UFC), Ukraine's largest salmon importer and processor, has switched its production focus at its remaining Kyiv factory to ready-to-eat products to help feed Ukrainians in the wake of the country's energy crisis.

Almost a year into Putin's invasion, attacks on energy infrastructure by Russian forces have caused widespread blackouts and disruption to heating and water, with many Ukrainian households unable to prepare food on a day-to-day basis.

The company's main processing factory in Kupyansk -- near the country's eastern border with Russia -- has almost entirely been destroyed by the continuous fighting and heavy shelling in the region.
