Danish trading company Nowaco has acquired ownership in Ciupsa, Uruguay's largest fishing company and processor, as part of its new strategic growth plan.
Ciupsa has its own vessels and a processing plant in Montevideo, and has collaborated with Nowaco for more than 15 years.
"It is a well-run business with many years of experience that we have bought into," said Nowaco CEO Katja Nowak Nielsen.
There are good synergies between Ciupsa’s operation and Nowaco’s sales organization, which sells into about 125 markets worldwide, she said.
