Canadian shellfish giant Clearwater Seafoods said it sold hundreds of thousands of pounds of seafood into China in March, although it has also diverted products where necessary to other markets because of the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

"We have seen increases in our retail and e-commerce businesses in China," said Clearwater CEO Ian Smith.

"Our Q1 sales have doubled versus our projections, and demand is very strong for repeat orders as in-market inventory has been depleted due to the increase in consumer demand from both retail and e-commerce," Smith told IntraFish.
