Impact investment fund Dao Foods International announced it is investing in Singapore-based Lohas Foods, a manufacturer of plant-based seafood.

China-based Dao Foods chose the plant-based startup as part of its plan, announced in 2020, to support and invest in up to 30 China-focused alternative protein ventures within three years.

The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

Lohas Foods makes a breaded plant-based fish fillet called Flaki that uses mycelium and resembles the texture of pollock and cod, the company says on its website.
