Danish member of parliament (MP) Preben Bang Henriksen is leaving his position as chairman of seafood group Kangamiut Holding after 14 years over the group's continued dealings with Russia, according to local media.

Kangamiut Holding -- the parent company of Danish exporter Kangamiut Seafood, among others -- is closing out its Russian contracts, but following a news report highlighting those contracts, Henriksen announced he would step down.

"The fact that there is a focus on it in public means that I have to act," Henriksen told Danish news site DR.
