Maine-based Bristol Seafood has acquired an additional site to support its expansion plans, the company said in a statement.
The building, situated on the Portland Fish Pier, will be used to produce the company's new value-added retail lines, including My Fish Dish, Seafood Singles and Grab & Go product ranges.
With the new facility, the company will be able to produce breathable skin-pack, vacuum skin-pack, traditional vacuum-packed products -- all with automated labeling, batch weighing, and portioning.
“The additional space brings more capacity and automation to our growing retail business while also creating space in our original facility to support the expanding needs of our foodservice and contract manufacturing partners," Bristol Seafood COO Brett Heidtke said.
Renovations have begun, and the site is expected to be up and running in the opening quarter of 2022.
