On Friday US scallop and whitefish harvesting and processing company Blue Harvest Fisheries announced it is offering its hourly workers an additional $1.00 (€0.92)-per-hour hazard pay for the duration of the state of emergency as declared by the Governor of Massachusetts, where the company operates.

"It was a small gesture we could make to our employees to show we value the potential risk they’re putting themselves through to support our company and to support the food source in the United States," Blue Harvest CEO Keither Decker told IntraFish.
