Frozen seafood giant Birds Eye rolled out an extra-large version of its fish finger, as sales heightened during the coronavirus pandemic. The product weighs double the standard fish finger at 60 grams.
"It was something we had been planning anyhow pre-COVID, but the momentum on the category in the last few months has accelerated the level of support and coverage we will get on it with our retail customers," Birds Eye UK General Manager Steve Challouma told IntraFish.
The new product, Crispy Chunky Fish Fingers, will be sold at UK retailers Tesco, Morrisons, Iceland and Ocado as of Sept.
