Major outbreaks at some of the world's largest Alaska-based processors in recent weeks continue to impact volumes for key frozen product forms, several Alaska pollock producers said.

One executive with a shoreside Alaska processing plant told IntraFish it could be difficult at this point to catch up on missed production during the A season.

"The season runs through the end of May, so theoretically if all plants were to open soon and not shut down again due to an outbreak, there would be time," the source said.
