Nebraska-based agribusiness giant Scoular said it is putting the finishing touches on its fishmeal plant in Oregon and ramping up output at its Myanmar* site in Southeast Asia.

Although Scoular opened its new $17.5 million (€16.8 million) fishmeal processing facility in Oregon with partners Da Yang Seafood and Bornstein Seafoods last month, equipment is still being installed.

The plant, serving the US and Canadian markets for aquaculture and petfood, will produce around 5,000 metric tons of hake fishmeal, as well as fish oil.
