Mowi’s value-added Consumer Products division posted its best second quarter ever this year, as consumer demand showed “resilience” despite inflationary pressures impacting most markets.

Mowi, the world’s largest salmon farmer, said it was a seasonally record-high quarter for the division, which posted operational earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of €37.1 million ($40.1 million), more than double that of the same period last year.

The group said solid consumer demand, strong yield, and improved operational efficiency, all contributed to the bumper quarter.
