The value of shrimp imports into the US market through October continued to decline, led in part by a steep drop in the value of shrimp imports from India, the country's No. 1 supplier.

Overall imports reached 565,929 metric tons worth $5.1 billion (€4.5 billion), a 4.8 percent increase in volume, and a nearly 4 percent decrease in value from this time last year, according to statistics released by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).
