'They can just forget it': Buyers push back on farmed salmon prices

Norwegian salmon prices are slipping back as the foodservice market continues to deal with fallout from the coronavirus pandemic, making buyers push back on offered prices, according to sources canvassed by IntraFish.

One exporter noted on Friday afternoon that at current levels, farmers will have a difficult time securing sales headed into next week.

"Some producers tried this morning for a higher price for next week, but they can just forget it," the exporter said. "If we don't get to buy at lower prices, we simply stop buying.
