Wholesale prices of Thai white shrimp (vannamei) sized 60/kg were more stable in 2019 than the year prior. However, they were still lower than past years.
The December 2019 price of THB 151 (€4.48/$4.97) per kilo was the lowest for that month since 2012, when it was THB 142.
Last year, the largest month-to-month swings were in March when prices dropped 20 percent and then in November when prices jumped up 12 percent.
For the year, the average price was THB 149, 5 percent less than 2018 and 19 percent lower than the 2017 average price.
