According to a report by SpareBank 1 market analysts, spot prices are being lifted by seasonal Christmas demand, as prices this week are in the range of NOK 54 (€5.30/$5.90) to NOK 58 (€5.70/$6.30) per kilogram, raised by up to NOK 6 (€0.59/$0.66) per kilogram from last year.
The analysts are optimistic about next year, saying it is "looking attractive" as biomass growth is going down and supply pressure remains strong, with more and more exports going outside of the EU.
